Leeds United’s search for new options at full-back saw the Whites linked with a move for Liverpool man Calvin Ramsay after he returned to Anfield from Preston – and the Reds are to make a decision.
Injury has played a crippling part in Ramsay‘s stint at Anfield since he joined the club from Aberdeen in the summer of 2022. It comes after starring for The Dons, having a hand in 10 goals in 39 senior games.
But he has since managed just two senior outings for the Reds since that £4m move, and then on loan at Preston during the first half of this season – only a further two games came his way. His loan ended.
Leeds are one of a number of clubs looking at the Scotland international, who needs game time. Going by his game time in the first half of the season, it is unclear if he is fit enough to make a real impact.
Now, The Mail claim Liverpool are set to make a decision on Ramsay – whether to send the defender on loan again, or allow him to recover his fitness during the second half of 23-24. Leeds are interested.

A player that Andy Robertson once described as “brilliant”, and said is ahead of himself at that age. It is unclear what state Ramsay is in. Liverpool’s decision to bring him back could mean he is available to go.
Ramsay is predominantly a right-back and Leeds clearly need another option in that area, after letting Luke Ayling and Djed Spence leave the club. Ayling has gone to Middlesbrough, Spence to Genoa.
But, the full-back is more than capable of playing on the left too and being able to play on both sides will attract Leeds and Daniel Farke, who will be aware he needs additions on both flanks this month.
