Sonny Perkins has been linked with a loan move away from Leeds United this summer but in what is perhaps a hint regarding his future – Leeds posted images of the teenage attacker modelling the club’s new training kit on Monday.
Perkins, 19, was a key part of our Under-21’s instant return to the top tier of Premier League 2 last season – scoring 13 goals in 23 games for the second string. The England U19 man also netted his first senior goal, away at Cardiff.
Relegation is something most at Leeds wanted to avoid, but in terms of Perkins’ first-team chances – they will have surely improved following the drop. But, TeamTalk say Leeds have given the ‘green light’ to Perkins going on loan.

A number of Championship clubs are said to be interested. Sunderland, Birmingham City and Blackburn, to name a fee. The report claims half a dozen of our new league rivals are keen to land the ex-West Ham attacker on a loan.
But, Leeds may have just dropped a hint on the 2022 signing’s future. That is because Perkins is seen as modelling the club’s new training kit for 2023-24, which was revealed on the club’s Twitter account on Monday morning.
Sonny Perkins linked with loan but models new 23-24 Leeds training kit
Perkins does have a chance of breaking into the first team, but it all depends on the future of those ahead of him in the pecking order. Jack Harrison and Willy Gnonto are more than likely to go, but Dan James has returned to Leeds.
It all depends on the futures of the current first-team squad. If Leeds manage to keep a couple of the names that are mentioned above, then Perkins needs to go on loan. A big few weeks to determine what he will do this summer.
