Leeds stars throwing up under Daniel Farke in training, described as ‘Bielsa with love’

The Mail claim that Leeds United’s players have been throwing up during training sessions due to the work rate Daniel Farke has been putting his new squad through – with the training likened to that of Marcelo Bielsa’s workouts.

Farke inherited a side this summer that had been relegated from the Premier League, beleaguered in confidence and an exodus of players expected. That has happened, but perhaps, not to the extent in which many predicted.

Leeds are now less than two weeks away from the opener against Cardiff at Elland Road on August 6. The club are closing in on a second summer signing in the form of Karl Darlow from Newcastle – after Ethan Ampadu’s arrival.

The training is described as being tough. The players have been throwing up but the difference is that while Bielsa had them in the next day, Farke is giving the Leeds players a day off – same intensity, but kinder to the players.

The source told The Mail: “Bielsa with love. Marcelo would destroy them on the training ground with his fitness drills and Daniel is similar. We’ve had players throwing up after sprint drills. The difference is they get the next day off.”

It is good to hear that the Leeds players are being put through it. Towards the end of the season, Luke Ayling even questioned the fitness of the players after taking the lead against West Ham – only to end up losing 3-1 in London.

There have been positives from the defeats to Manchester United and Monaco and hopefully by August 6, it will be clear to the players and the fans that the work Farke has been forcing the players to get through, is all worth it.
