Leeds United made it two wins from two with another roller-coaster win over Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon – in which Rodrigo netted his seventh goal of the season, earning praise from Raphinha on Instagram following the victory.
Club-record signing Rodrigo actually gave Leeds the lead – the first of seven goals. He sent Mark Travers the wrong way, his seventh Premier League goal of the season. He has already equalled his best Leeds season in terms of goals.
Indeec, Rodrigo scored seven in his first season, and six last term. This time around, it has taken the Spain star just 12 league games to reach that total. The ex-Valencia man has three goals in his last three and looks back to his best.
So much so, that even if Patrick Bamford was fit on Saturday, he would have been on the bench – without a shadow of doubt. Sam Greenwood, Liam Cooper and Crysencio Summerville also found themselves on the score sheet.
What a win it was. Another spectacular win. It sees Leeds propel themselves into 12th, finding momentum just at the right time ahead of the World Cup. Rodrigo was one of many players to post on Instagram following the victory.
Rodrigo earns praise from Raphinha following Leeds victory
What a win it was. To be 3-1 down after 50 minutes, and win, is immense. Jesse Marsch has his critics and while not many could have argued with his starting line-up – it was his substitutes and tactical tweaks that won Leeds the game.
He says he changed to more of a 4-3-3 – bringing on Willy Gnonto at half-time, which was a risk. He also took Marc Roca off on 54 minutes, bringing on Sam Greenwood and playing Greenwood alongside Brenden Aaronson.
In front of Tyler Adams. It worked a treat. Greenwood scored and and laid on an assist for Cooper. Gnonto’s assist for Summerville is world class. But it was Rodrigo that earned praise from Raphinha, who continues to struggle at Barca.
