Leeds star and his representatives ‘upset’ as The 49ers rejected Premier League bid

The Daily Mail claim Leeds United man Willy Gnonto and his representatives have been left ‘upset’ by The 49ers decision to reject a bid worth £15m from Everton this summer – with Gnonto now training by himself at Thorp Arch.

Gnonto, 19, continues to be the subject of interest for Everton and other Premier League clubs with less than three weeks left to go before this summer’s deadline. Tottenham are also among his many admirers, as per London World.

But having refused to play against Shrewsbury Town in the Carabao Cup last Wednesday, and then said his mind was not right to take on Birmingham City – Gnonto has been told to train on his own. He has done so this week.

It is unclear if he will be in the squad to play West Brom on Friday – as Daniel Farke faces the media on Wednesday. But The Mail say from Gnonto’s perspective, he and his agents are upset at Everton’s bid being rejected this month.

Gnonto and representatives upset by The 49ers rejecting Everton bid

It is quite clear that Gnonto is being badly advised. If he wants a move – fair enough. He is a player that has shown he can have an impact in the Premier League. But going about it in the way he is, is embarrassing. Career damaging.

While Everton remain interested and Premier League clubs are coming to the fore, surely there will now be question marks over his attitude – and indeed, having to deal with his representatives, who are the driving force behind this?

Either way, as time goes on, it looks as though there is little way back for him at Elland Road. While Leeds have said that he is not for sale, if a decent offer in the region of £25m comes in for him – then surely, it has to be accepted.
