Neil Warnock has told TalkSPORT (Tuesday, 1.10PM) that he feels Mauricio Pochettino could be tempted by a move to Leeds United, claiming money may no longer motivate the Argentine gaffer. He says the size of Leeds could tempt him.
Pochettino, 50, is currently out of work after leaving PSG – the club he played for in his playing career – last summer. He was replaced by Christophe Galtier. Leeds are on the lookout for a new manager, after sacking Marsch on Monday.
Simon Jordan does not believe Pochettino would be tempted by a move to Leeds. That is, even if Leeds offered the ex-Tottenham manager a bonus worth £10million if he kept the Whites in the Premier League come the end of the season.
But Warnock – who managed Leeds for just over a year between February 2012 and April 2013, clocking up 63 games in charge – says Pochettino could join Leeds. He does not think money is an issue, and the challenge will tempt him.
“Somebody mentioned Pochettino. He doesn’t need the money and that would be a massive challenge, at a great club. Sometimes, it’s not all about money for these managers. That would be a good shout,” Warnock said, on TalkSPORT.

There is no way Pochettino is going to Leeds. While Warnock’s point about money no longer motivating Pochettino, is probably true – it is the fact that Pochettino sees himself as one of the best bosses in Europe. He is right to think that.
He starred as Tottenham manager on a tiny budget. He did well at PSG. So, he needs to join a side that are competing at the top end of one of Europe’s biggest leagues, in the Champions League. Leeds are absolutely miles off that.
