Simon Jordan has told TalkSPORT (Tuesday, 11.10AM) that Mauricio Pochettino will not be replacing Jesse Marsch at Leeds United – claiming the Argentine would not consider a move even if he was offered £10million to keep Leeds up.
Pochettino, 50, remains out of work after being replaced by Christophe Galtier at PSG last summer. He sees himself as a Champions League manager and rightly so, after starring as Spurs manager. That is, even with a limited budget.
His credentials are right up there. An impressive 23 wins in 60 games at Southampton, followed by 159 in 273 games at Spurs. Then, 55 more wins in 84 PSG games. But ultimately, he could not get the best out of a star-studded PSG side.
Every time there is a Premier League job opening, Pochettino’s name is floated around. Asked if Pochettino could join Leeds to replace Marsch, Jordan says the Argentine would not join Leeds. Even, if he was given a £10m survival bonus.
“This task is slightly different. I don’t think you’ll get Pochettino. Not because Leeds aren’t a big club – he won’t be interested in a move to Leeds. I don’t see Pochettino coming to Leeds, even if they offered him £10m quid to stay up.”

Pochettino is some way above Leeds in terms of stature. There is no way that the Argentine would go from managing clubs like PSG and Tottenham – the size of those sides – to joining 17th-placed Leeds. The size of Leeds is not an issue.
But the position in the table and the chances Pochettino could harm his incredible stature by suffering relegation makes it impossible for the South American to resurface at Yorkshire. Time will tell,. Leeds need a quick appointment.
