Leeds United’s opening day opponents Cardiff City are set to complete the signing of Aaron Ramsey.
That is according to Wales Online, who report Ramsey is set to undergo a medical today ahead of returning to the club he left as a teenager to join Arsenal in 2008.
As per the report, Cardiff are still waiting on Nice to agree Ramsey’s departure from their end, with the Bluebirds still under a transfer embargo which restricts them from paying transfer fees.

Ramsey was a boyhood Cardiff supporter and spent several years in the club’s academy before his move to Arsenal, and his return is likely to be a huge boost to their fans.
The 32-year-old did reportedly have an offer from big spending Saudi Arabia but has now made it clear he wishes to return to the place where it all started.
Leeds’ opening day opponents Cardiff close to Ramsey signing
Leeds begin their Championship season with a home match against Cardiff in front of the Sky cameras on Sunday 6 August; kick-off 2.30pm.
Despite their embargo, Cardiff have been moving smartly and efficiently in the transfer window so far having secured the signings of Dimitrios Goutas and Yakou Meite on a free, as well as Ike Ugbo on loan.
Ramsey, though, will undoubtedly be the marquee arrival at Cardiff this summer, who remains a hero in Wales for what he has achieved on the international stage.

This is just yet more clear evidence Leeds need to speed up their approach to the transfer market this summer, with the Whites yet to make any new signings.
Daniel Farke yesterday spoke of the confidence he has in the people working behind-the-scenes, but now is a time for action as the season gets closer.
