Leeds United are still in internal talks over whether to sign former Norwich City defender Sam Byram permanently.
That is according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, who report Leeds are continuing to mull over whether to offer Byram a deal after spending the summer both training and playing with the Whites.
As per the report, Leeds are in no rush to make a decision on Byram’s future and could wait until the end of the window as they continue to assess the state of his fitness.

Byram has been plagued by injuries during the last few years of his career, playing less than 100 matches since his exit from Leeds back in 2016.
However, Byram has been impressive across the three friendlies he has been involved in at Leeds this summer, and so far, his body has held up well to the demands of pre-season.
Leeds continue to mull over deal for Byram
Daniel Farke, of course, knows Byram well from his time in charge at Norwich City, where he actually signed him from West Ham United in 2019.
Farke is well aware of what Byram can offer a side in the Championship, but equally, has also worked alongside him during a tough period with injuries.

Byram would be able to offer both competition and cover in both full-back positions, but has spent all of pre-season playing on the left.
Leo Hjelde is set to start the season as Leeds’ first choice in that position, with Junior Firpo currently out injured and expected to leave anyway.
Leeds remain in the market for a new left-back, though it remains unclear whether Farke would look to sign one as well as bringing Byram in.
