Journalist Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that he believes that Leeds United will keep an eye on Chris Wood heading into the January transfer window.
Leeds absolutely need to sign a new striker next month. Rodrigo has been excellent in front of goal. But Patrick Bamford’s wait to find the back of the net again has now passed a year – largely due to injury.

The Athletic reported that there is serious interest in Atletico Madrid forward Matheus Cunha. But perhaps we may end up looking closer to home.
Leeds set to keep an eye on Chris Wood
Wood has endured a quiet season at Newcastle United. The New Zealander has featured 14 times in the Premier League. However, he has only made two appearances of longer than 45 minutes so far.

MORE LEEDS STORIES
With Eddie Howe’s men certainly only looking up, it would be no surprise if Wood left Tyneside sooner or later. And Jones has claimed that Leeds may be the ones who look at him next month.
“I think that they should be looking at somebody like Chris Wood, and I think Leeds will keep their eye on that situation,” he told Give Me Sport.
Wood ending up at Leeds would be a real surprise. There was a lot of disappointment surrounding the manner in which he left Elland Road back in 2017. He did an interview with The Independent shortly after in which he insisted that he had not refused to play for the Whites as his £18 million Burnley move edged closer.
His record in the Premier League is not bad. He has 53 goals in 185 games. So if he is going to leave Newcastle next month, there is bound to be plenty of interest.
However, it would disappoint plenty of Leeds fans if he ended up returning. Certainly, he would not be the long-term answer to our current striker issues.
He also cost Newcastle £25 million. So if he is going to leave the Magpies, he may not come cheap. And with that, many fans would probably not mind if little comes of the links between Leeds and Wood.
