Alex Crook has told TalkSPORT (Tuesday, 7.40AM) that Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou does not want to leave Parkhead to join Leeds United – and if the Whites do move for the Aussie, it is believed he could be quite expensive.
Postecoglou is one of a number of names supposedly linked with a move to Elland Road. TMW first reported this week that he was under consideration at Elland Road. It comes after impressing as Celtic boss, having joined 18 months ago.
The £42k-a-week boss won the title in his first season. That is, despite Celtic needing major surgery when he took over – Rangers won the League unbeaten under Steven Gerrard the season prior. He is a contender to win the Leeds job.
Transfer expert Crook has given an update regarding a possible Leeds move for Postecoglou. He believes that the 57-year-old wants to remain at Parkhead and if Leeds did move, it could be quite a costly deal to bring him to Yorkshire.
“The vibe I’m getting regarding out of Celtic is that he doesn’t want to leave. He would be very difficult for Leeds to get him. I expect he would also cost a few million quid in terms of compensation,” Crook said, regarding Postecoglou.

It makes sense. Why would Postecoglou leave halfway through what is only his second season at Celtic? Where he is nine points clear? About to qualify for the Champions League group stages – to enter a relegation battle at Leeds?
He is happy at Celtic and the only way Leeds could get him out of Glasgow is by offering him huge cash in terms of wages. Offering Celtic a bumper compensation fee – and huge money in the transfer windows. Even then, it is unlikely.
