TuttoMercatoWeb report that both Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou and Steven Gerrard are on Leeds United’s radar to replace Jesse Marsch alongside Carlos Corberan after the club confirmed they had sacked the American on Monday.

Marsch has been sacked after Sunday’s loss to Nottingham Forest. It leaves us in 17th place, only above the drop zone on goal difference. The club are hoping to make a swift appointment, with Manchester United next on Wednesday.

90Min report that West Brom manager Carlos Corberan is a front runner. The Spaniard has obviously worked at Leeds in the past, as U21’s manager and then as an assistant to Marcelo Bielsa. A gaffer that Bielsa branded “very talented”.

Now, TMW report that there are two new managers on the Leeds shortlist. They include Aussie gaffer Postecoglou who is working wonders at Celtic, winning the Premiership last season and looking likely to do the same this time around.

The other is Gerrard. The Liverpool legend was sacked by Aston Villa earlier this season after a tricky spell. But, Gerrard did shine as Rangers manager during his time north of the border, before leaving Ibrox to take over at Villa Park.

Leeds sack Marsch: Ange Postecoglou and Steven Gerrard on Leeds radar

Postecoglou would be a stunning appointment but while Celtic are top of the Premiership and closing in on a second league title, it is unlikely he leaves the Scottish champions. He may be more tempted to leave Celtic in the summer.

Gerrard would surely jump at the chance to take over from Bielsa. But, Leeds should have reservations about Gerrard, given his poor stint at Villa. But of course, he is a huge name and would certainly galvanise Leeds and the club’s fans.

Corberan remains the front runner but it depends if the Spaniard is keen on a return to Elland Road. Of course, he left Leeds the summer before Bielsa’s sacking, to join Huddersfield. Now at West Brom, he is starring as Baggies manager.
