Leeds United are reportedly in talks for Scott Parker after missing out on Brendan Rodgers, and the Englishman was the subject of praise for the style of his Fulham side from Pep Guardiola in 2021 – as quoted by Man City’s website.
Parker, 42, is currently out of work after a poor spell at Club Brugge earlier this season – which saw him appear in the Champions League, but last just 12 games as boss of the Belgians. But, his CV is definitely an impressive one.
Indeed, his other two spells in management have seen Parker guide both Fulham and Bournemouth to promotion to the Premier League. With Leeds relegated to the second tier, getting a manager with second-tier knowledge is key.
TalkSPORT report that Parker has entered talks with Leeds, but we may face competition from fellow relegated side Leicester. Speaking about Parker while he was at Fulham in 2021 – and Graham Potter – Guardiola praised the duo.
“Since day one, they have Fulham have played incredibly well. They were relegated with Scott at the end of the season and after that, they were promoted. In English football, there are incredibly good managers,” Guardiola said.
“Such as Graham Potter and Scott. They have courage to play. In my fifth season in England, I have never seen the lower teams with this quality. I saw it with Fulham. Their pace, their organisation – a real tough, tough opponent.”

Parker is a manager with potential. An English boss, still young, with an identity that is easily recognisable but also attractive on the eye. But, he struggled at Brugge and the reaction from fans regarding Parker has not been good.
That is despite boasting two promotions on his CV from the Championship. So, while Parker is clearly a manager that has even impressed Guardiola, but it remains to be seen where Leeds turn. Brendan Rodgers is off to Celtic.
