Leeds hero Crysencio Summerville has told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf that he dreams of playing with the best players in European football – after breakthrough couple of weeks in a Leeds shirt, scoring two last-minute winners.
Summerville, 21, scored the winner a day before his birthday to beat Liverpool at Anfield. A brilliant goal, going past Virgil van Dijk before flicking the ball past Alisson. Then, a week later, he got the winner against Bournemouth.
The Netherlands Under-21 international nabbed the winner in a stunning comeback win, to beat The Cherries 4-3. He is the darling of Leeds supporters right now, taking his tally to three Premier League goals in his last three games.
He is sure to start on the weekend when Leeds to take on Tottenham in North London. The chances are, he is rested on Wednesday when Leeds play against Wolves in the Carabao Cup. He has been speaking about his long-term goals.
“One goal of mine is that in the long run I want to be among the better players in Europe,” Summerville told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf this week. “I then think: you can just dream and work towards that, can’t you?
“Last year I sometimes regretted not playing, but looking back on it now, I was not one hundred per cent ready to play in the Premier League. Only now I can say that I am really ready, that I can show myself as well.”

Leeds hero Summerville dreams of playing with the best players in Europe
What a couple of weeks Summerville has had. It is incredible to think that he was only given his first Premier League start against Leicester, struggling in a 2-0 loss to the Foxes. He came off the bench to score a late goal against Fulham.
But then, the Liverpool winner has propelled him to a new level. The goal against Bournemouth sent Elland Road into raptures. There is an underlying issue regarding Summerville and it is his attitude – Jesse Marsch has alluded to it.
The American gaffer even said that Summerville requested to return to his home country to celebrate his 21st birthday. Marsch says he told the player no, but images emerged on Instagram of Summerville seemingly in the Netherlands.
So, keeping Summerville grounded is important. Especially, when he is coming out with comments such as these. But while he is in excellent form and scoring goals, it is crucial that Leeds continue to benefit and thrive from his goals.
