Leeds United target Glen Kamara was once again absent from the Rangers squad for their pre-season friendly against Olympiacos.
Rangers were beaten 3-1 by the Greek side at Ibrox in what was their third match of the summer in preparation for the new season.
Kamara is yet to have any involvement in each of the three games and with Rangers’ season now just nine days away, it throws yet more doubt as to whether he will still be at the club by then.
Manager Michael Beale was not asked on the whereabouts of Kamara on Wednesday night but did speak about him after the defeat to Newcastle United on July 18.
He claimed then Kamara had been ill and would be returning to training shortly, however he still has not been seen back in action since.
Leeds handed boost as Kamara absent for Rangers again
Beale did also admit Rangers had received several enquiries for Kamara, with Leeds thought to be one of them, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
That speculation has continued to mount in recent days though there has been nothing official to suggest he is closing in on a move to Elland Road.
With Rangers set to sign LAFC midfielder Jose Cifuentes at the beginning of next week, Kamara is expected to be allowed to move on this summer.
He is said to be available at around the £5 million mark after an impressive time at the Scottish giants, aside from the most recent campaign.
Leeds are in need of a number eight with excellent quality in possession and Kamara is someone who certainly fits that bill.
