Jamie Shackleton has finally completed a season-long loan move to Millwall from Leeds United, reuniting with Charlie Cresswell – prompting Leeds fans to respond to the news on Twitter. It is his first move away from Elland Road.
Shackleton, 22, departs after clocking up 78 senior appearances for the Whites since breaking into the side under Marcelo Bielsa. Last season, he was used just 16 times – 14 of which came in the Premier League.
But with Leeds signing Rasmus Kristensen at right-back, and both Tyler Adams and Marc Roca in central midfield, Shackleton has left the club. There were rumours of a permanent clause, but there is no mention of that from Millwall.

It is Shackleton’s first move away from Elland Road – as is the same scenario with defender Cresswell. Both players will now be looking to get at least 40 senior appearances under their belt, for Gary Rowett’s London-based side.
Leeds fans respond: Shackleton has finally completed Millwall move
Shackleton was not a part of the side that had jetted out to Australia with a move to Millwall seemingly in the pipeline for a while. That is, despite winning the club’s bleep test during testing earlier this summer.
Reports of a medical happening on Tuesday emerged earlier this week and now, a move to Millwall has come to fruition. The Lions are planning an assault on the top six, having finished ninth last season – only six points off sixth.
Following the announcement on Tuesday afternoon, Leeds fans responded to the news in their drones. The majority are hopeful that Shackleton will return to have an impact at Elland Road – while some questioned the decision.
