Leeds United remain interested in Borussia Dortmund left-back Raphael Guerreiro, with 90min reporting that the Portuguese’s contract with the Bundesliga giants is set to expire in the summer.

The 29-year-old continues to be one of the most productive full-backs in the European game. Guerreiro has scored four goals and provided nine assists for Dortmund in all competitions this season.

In total, he has 38 goals and 45 assists for the club. But 90min reports that he looks to be in contention to leave Westfalenstadion at the end of the campaign. His contract expires in the summer.

And there is plenty of interest. 90min reports that Leeds are amongst his Premier League admirers, with Newcastle and Aston Villa also keen on the French-born full-back.

A deal for Guerreiro would be a no-brainer for Leeds – provided, of course, that we stay in the Premier League this season.

Junior Firpo has arguably been one of our best players in recent weeks. The left-back has silenced a lot of his critics with his performances. And of course, he scored that winning goal against Southampton.

However, it has taken the 26-year-old some time to get to that stage. With that, it would be very wise to consider other options. As noted by 90min, Leeds are also keen on Kieran Tierney at Arsenal.

Guerreiro will have turned 30 by the end of the year. But it would be a masterstroke to bring him to Elland Road on a free transfer.

Clearly, there are going to be some very appealing options on the table if he becomes available.

It could really be a game-changer for Leeds if they were at all able to convince Guerreiro to join the club in the coming months.
