Mirror journalist Darren Witcoop says Leeds United remain interested in signing Norwich City midfielder Kenny McLean before the end of the summer window – after having a previous £3million bid rejected.
McLean, 31, was signed by Daniel Farke at Norwich during the early stages of his Canaries spell. He has stayed at Norwich since, clocking up 181 outings for Norwich in the Championship and Premier League.
A 30-time Scotland star, McLean has two years remaining on his deal at Carrow Road. But Farke is keen to reunite with McLean. According to Sky Sports on Monday, Leeds saw a £4million offer rejected.
Witcoop reports that the offer was more around the £3million mark, but that Leeds remain interested in the playmaker and could still return with a second, improved offer. He has a contract until June 2025.

McLean is a player with huge experience in the Championship. One that knows what it takes to get out of the division. He is also a player that knows what Farke will want from you. Leeds need midfielders.
Plenty have been linked. Dusselford’s Japan star Ao Tanaka, Werder Bremen’s Ilia Gruev and Rangers man Glen Kamara are all targets for Leeds. McLean is another name on the list, ahead of the deadline.
Whether Leeds get one or two in, remains to be seen. What may help Leeds is that Norwich would be making a profit on McLean should they sell for anything north of £200,000. One to watch before Friday.
Gruev is expected to make a decision on Thursday, while Kamara is said to be keen – but Leeds are considering other options before signing the Finland ace. The trail for Tanaka seems to have gone cold.
