Javi Gracia has made an excellent start to life as Leeds United manager but the Whites could still make a change and look at Patrick Vieira as the club’s next boss – and if they do, Jack Harrison will surely sign a new contract.
The Spanish gaffer has come in and has been tasked with keeping Leeds in the Premier League. He has made a solid start, securing seven points from a possible 12. Wins against Southampton and Wolves, a draw with Brighton.
Gracia was only hired on a flexible contract. His job is to keep Leeds up, but even if he does, his position is likely to be reviewed this summer. If he keeps us up by the skin of his teeth, like Jesse Marsch, he might be under threat.
TalkSPORT say that Leeds could look to Vieira this summer, if they choose not to keep Gracia for whatever reason. Vieira has been sacked by Palace, and there was an intriguing report that said at Palace – he wanted to join Leeds.
As things stand, and if Gracia continues in the way he has started, you would expect him to remain for 23-24. But, if Vieira does come in and Leeds are in the top tier next season, surely Harrison signs a new deal at Elland Road.

Of course, Harrison played under Vieira at New York City. Vieira gave the Englishman his professional debut in the MLS, during a 7-0 loss to New York Red Bulls at the age of 19. He went on to play 61 games under Vieira in America.
The two have a good connection and have been seen embracing at games between Leeds and Palace. The future of Harrison remains in doubt – with his deal ending in 2024. He came within an inch of a Leicester move in January.
The likelihood is that Harrison is waiting to see if Leeds will stay up, before signing a new deal. You can hardly blame him. But there is a chance that he still wants a move even if Leeds stay up. Bringing Vieira in, may tempt him to stay.
