The Sun’s Alan Nixon has reported on his Patreon channel that Aston Villa want a fee of £20m for striker Cameron Archer – amid reports that Leeds United and Paul Heckingbottom’s Sheffield United are keen.
Archer, 21, is back at Villa after another successful stint in England’s second tier – this time on loan at Michael Carrick’s Middlesbrough. He played 23 times after joining in January, scoring an impressive 11.
It comes after joining Preston the previous January, scoring seven goals in 20. Clearly, a proven striker at Championship level. He was an unused sub against Newcastle, and got five minutes against Everton.

CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs recently told Give Me Sport that Archer is up for sale and that Leeds are one of a number of clubs interested. Nixon says Sheffield United are also keen on a move for Archer.
Nixon also reports that a fee of £20m is required for Villa to accept the sale of the England U21 striker. Villa want a buyback clause – and Sheffield United want that to be worth £50m. So, plenty to happen.
Villa want £20m fee for Cameron Archer amid Leeds reports
What a signing Archer would be. He would instantly improve any club in England’s second tier, and there are also a handful of Premier League clubs he would help, too. Charlie Cresswell labelled him “deadly”.

Archer will want to stay in the Premier League but as time draws closer to the deadline, it might be that he cannot be so picky. A permanent move to a club pursuing promotion may have to do. Leeds, maybe?
Leeds desperately need a striker. Georginio Rutter is seen as a winger. Patrick Bamford can no longer be replied upon to remain fit and Joe Gelhardt is a 10. So, bringing in Archer gives Leeds a reliable no.9.
