Daniel Farke has told his Leeds United press conference on Friday – as per the club’s YouTube – that Djed Spence is in the “last stages” of his rehab, and also gave updates on Junior Firpo and Stuart Dallas.

Dallas remains sidelined since picking up a broken leg against Manchester City in April 2022. Firpo is yet to return to action since featuring in our final game of last season – a 4-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Spence has only managed one outing for Leeds since joining on loan from Spurs, picking up an injury in training. The latter is expected to be sidelined for eight weeks – but is closing in on a return to training.

Dallas has been in and out of team training, as he looks to build up fitness ahead of a full senior training return. Firpo is back in full training, it might not be long before he is back involved. Farke commented.

“Junior is back in team training, Stuart at the moment is doing some individual training. Djed is in the last stages of his rehab. I hope Stuart and Djed can return to team training, Djed was out for eight weeks.

“He will need some training first before playing. Hopefully in the next 10 days, 14 days he will be back,” Farke told Friday’s press conference as per Leeds United’s YouTube channel, on the trio of injuries.

What a boost this is. It will allow Archie Gray to return to the middle of the park, with the England U19 man playing on the right of defence of late. Against Stoke, he was far from his best. Not as effective.

But in the middle of the park, Gray shines. Spence is a player with Premier League quality, and he knows the Championship well – he will be a massive plus to this Leeds side. Firpo and Dallas will take time.

They have spent longer out. Firpo will be excellent competition, especially at this level, for the in-form Sam Byram. Dallas immediately improves this side for so many reasons. Hopefully, they are back soon.
