Transfer expert Rudy Galetti has told Give Me Sport that Wolves are exploring a deal for West Ham United striker Michail Antonio amid reports that Leeds United and Celtic also want the Jamaica star – with an exit deemed likely.

Antonio, 33, has entered the final 12 months of his West Ham contract after eight years with the Hammers. In that time, he has clocked up 277 appearances in claret and blue, scoring 75 goals and laying on another 43 assists.

Impressive numbers given Antonio initially joined as a winger and even went through a stage of playing as a right-back. He has opened the door to an exit, telling his podcast The Players Channel: “Whatever happens, happens”.

It came after a report from Football Transfers said that Leeds and Celtic were interested in landing Antonio, who has three goals in 12 Jamaica caps. Galetti says Wolves are exploring a move. Caught Offside say West Ham want £6m.

“Wolves are also looking for an offensive player, either a striker or a winger. Michail Antonio’s contract with West Ham expires next year in 2024. He is one of the names explored,” Galetti told Give Me Sport on Antonio, this week.

Gary O’Neil is in charge at Wolves now and there seems to be quite a lot of business going back and forth between the two sides. Aaron Cresswell continues to be linked with a move, after defender Craig Dawson moved to Molineux.

A move to Wolves for Antonio would hardly be surprising. But surely, while he is still starting for West Ham and the Hammers are in Europe, he will want to stay? It is unclear what he wants in terms of the next stage in his career.
