Transfer expert Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that Fulham are hoping to make progress “this week” in a move to sign Leeds United playmaker Brenden Aaronson – amid reports the Londoners made a loan offer for our no.7.
Aaronson, 22, failed to live up to the hype last term. Signed for £25m from Salzburg as Jesse Marsch’s first arrival, Aaronson played 40 times for Leeds in all competitions – but scored just one goal, laying on three Leeds assists.
The Mail report Fulham have made an official approach to sign Aaronson on loan. The report claims clubs can sign Leeds players without rejection, if they offer to pay 100% of the player’s wages – due to a relegation release clause.
Now, Jones delivers an update on the situation regarding Aaronson and Fulham. A club that boast two of Aaronson’s USMNT teammates in Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson. He says Fulham want to make progress in the coming days.
“The way he presses and gets on the ball, tries to make things happen. He would be a really good foil for Mitrovic in that sense. It’s something that Fulham are looking at. I think they’re hoping to make some headway on it this week.”

It would be a good move for Aaronson, if the USMNT man can secure assurances that he will be first choice. Fulham have Andreas Pereira, who often played in front of Harrison Reed and Joao Palhinha throughout the 22-23 season.
Would Aaronson start over Pereira? Unlikely. But, he does offer versatility and that could see him win a place in the Fulham side, perhaps out wide. But Aaronson needs game time and perhaps, he will struggle to get that at Fulham.
