Brenden Aaronson must look at £25m star’s frustrating 22-23 season before Leeds exit

Brenden Aaronson is one of a number of Leeds players that may have an exit clause that allows him to leave on loan after relegation – but with Fulham keen, Aaronson must be wary of Dan James‘ 22-23 term at the West London club.

Aaronson, 22, managed just four goal involvements in his 40 games for Leeds last season. You would argue that he has not earned a move, and he is probably better off staying at Leeds and continuing to adapt to English football.

But it looks as if Aaronson will go. The Mail say he – along with a number of other Leeds stars including Tyler Adams, Willy Gnonto and Jack Harrison – have the opportunity to go on loan if the buying club pay 100% of their wages.

Fulham have made a move. But, while a move to Fulham would see him instantly return to the Premier League – he must think really carefully. Is that a good move? Or should he consider James’ loan spell, who warmed the bench.

Aaronson must be wary of James’ 22-23 term as Fulham eye Leeds man

James, 25, joined Fulham because Leeds signed the likes of Aaronson and Willy Gnonto. He left Elland Road on loan in order to strengthen his chances of World Cup success in Qatar with Wales. His game time went down, though.

Just six starts all season in all competitions, and only 23 outings – scoring three goals. Aaronson has got to look at the £25m signing from Manchester United’s season. Not enough game time to showcase his talents, at Fulham.

Fulham have some wonderful attacking talents. Harry Wilson, Willian, Manor Soloman, Andread Pereira and more. James struggled to get into the side to start and so would Aaronson – behind all of the four mentioned, above.

So, if Fulham are interested and the reports are true, Aaronson has got to look at James’ lack of game time in West London with Marco Silva’s side – and should ignore a move to Craven Cottage. It would see him struggle again.
