Journalist says Arne Slot would ‘love’ to join Tottenham, but Leeds still his better move

Feyenoord manager Arne Slot is likely to have the pick of a host of Premier League clubs this summer and while Marcel van der Kraan claims he would “love” to join Tottenham – his best move is still taking over at Leeds United.

Slot, 44, is shining in his home country. Having failed to win the Eredivisie as a player and since going into the world of management, Feyenoord are eight points clear at the top of the table. He could finally win that elusive trophy.

It looks more than likely. But this summer, when that is done and the party is over, Slot is likely to be on his way to English football. The Times say West Ham and Palace have joined Leeds and Tottenham in showing interest in Slot.

Then, on Thursday (11.15AM), van der Kraan told TalkSPORT Slot would “love” to manage Spurs. But the Dutch writer also said he was “keen” on a move to Leeds, before Feyenoord blocked a move. So, where is best for Slot?

This is of course, Leeds remain in the Premier League – but the club look to bring in a new manager instead of Javi Gracia. A lucky escape from relegation, or perhaps the possibility that Slot is keen on leaving – then Leeds will look.

Tottenham are a club that have wonderful facilities. But the club are likely to go backwards this summer. Without Champions League qualification, which looks unlikely, Harry Kane will surely go. Fabio Paratici has now left the club.

The North London side is in disarray – a fanbase incredibly expectant. If Slot goes to Spurs straight away, without proving himself in the Premier League and initially struggles, he will be thrown on the scrapheap by Daniel Levy.

But, if he joins a club like Leeds. A big club with potential if things click in the Premier League, then Slot can prove he has what it takes to manage at this level – and earn himself more time at Spurs, with that background in England.

If Leeds do stay up, the only way is up the Premier League table this season – under a potential new board, with cash. Plenty of scope, while Spurs are going to backwards with Kane going. Leeds is easily Slot’s better move.
