The Times claim West Ham and Crystal Palace have joined Tottenham and Leeds in looking at Feyenoord boss Arne Slot ahead of the summer – with both London clubs likely to be looking for a new manager at the end of the season.

Slot, 44, is close to guiding Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title in what would be an astonishing achievement given Ajax have much more spending power – as do PSV Eindhoven. With six games left, Feyenoord are eight points clear.

The Independent said after the sacking of Jesse Marsch that Leeds were eyeing Slot, who would cost £5.75million. He chose to stay put – unsurprising, given Leeds still find themselves in the midst of a relegation battle this term.

For Slot, he has spent his entire playing career, and managerial life in his home country – without ever winning the Eredivisie title. So, to leave when it is on the horizon was always going to be a difficult one. He stayed put.

But in the summer, when that is wrapped up, you would argue he would be tempted to go. Leeds and Tottenham could still make their move – but The Times say West Ham and Palace are now also interested in the Dutchman.

Where does Slot go next? West Ham are yet to make a decision on David Moyes and if he keeps West Ham up, and goes all the way in the Conference League – you would argue he stays. Palace will need a new gaffer, Leeds maybe.

If Javi Gracia keeps Leeds up, you would expect the Spaniard to remain – even after a 5-1 loss to Crystal Palace. But Spurs will need a new manager and they are more than likely to be in some form of European football next season.

If Spurs are willing to make a move and bring in a young manager unproven in the Premier League, like Manchester United did with Erik ten Hag, then Spurs are certainly favourites for Slot. But West Ham might be ideal for Slot.
