Journalist says 21-year-old Leeds player is one to ‘keep an eye on’ as PL club remain keen

Leeds United defender Cody Drameh is one to ‘keep an eye on’ before the end of the window.

That is according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who also reports that Burnley retain an interest in the 21-year-old, who has just 12 months remaining on his deal at Elland Road.

This season had appeared as though it could be the one for Drameh to really make his mark at Leeds but a minor hamstring injury has really prevented him from building any momentum.

Drameh missed the last two pre-season friendlies, as well as the Championship opener against Cardiff City, but did come off the bench in stoppage time on Wednesday in the win over Shrewsbury Town.

Newly promoted sides Burnley and Luton Town have been linked with moves throughout the summer, though the latter – where he shone on loan last season – have since moved onto other targets.

Drameh’s future at Leeds was thrown into further doubt earlier this week with the Whites having been close to spending big money on Norwich City’s Max Aarons.

Leeds had agreed a £9m + add-ons deal for the 23-year-old, who has been one of the best right-backs in the Championship over the last few years.

His arrival would’ve all but ended any hopes of Drameh playing regularly at Leeds, however a move fell through as Bournemouth swooped in at the 11th hour.

It remains to be seen whether Leeds re-enter the market for another right-back, but Drameh will no doubt be left wondering what that interest means for him.

With three weeks of the window remaining, it does feel more and more likely that he could move on.
