There is a ‘quiet confidence’ at Leeds United that San Francisco 49ers Enterprises will complete a takeover soon.
That is according to Leeds Live reporter Beren Cross, who wrote in a question and answer session that there is hope a deal is not too far away.
49ers Enterprises remain in talks with Andrea Radrizzani over a full buyout of the club, with a new deal having to be put in place after relegation from the Premier League.
A price of around £420 million had originally been agreed between the two parties in the event Leeds stayed in the Premier League, however 49ers reportedly now value the club at just £150 million in the Championship.
It was revealed on Tuesday that Radrizzani flew to America last week in order to progress with the talks as Leeds look to get to work on rebuilding the club for the second tier.
‘Quiet confidence’ deal gets done
A potentially big step to a full buyout was taken late last night as Radrizzani officially completed his purchase of Sampdoria.
Radrizzani has remained radio silent on Leeds after the club’s relegation, instead focusing on his pursuit of the troubled Italian side.
With that finally done, there is optimism surrounding a 49ers takeover. Cross said: “There is certainly a quiet confidence inside the club about the chances of 49ers Enterprises getting this over the line, but nobody can predict what Radrizzani might do from day to day. I am not aware of how the transition would be handled.”
It certainly feels as though a giant stride towards the 49ers coming in was taken on Tuesday with the news of Radrizzani’s buyout of Sampdoria.
It is pretty clear to everyone that is where he has been focusing all his energy and now it is time for him to revert it back to Leeds so the club can start moving forward.
The reports coming out of Leeds are positive, and hopefully an agreement is not too far away.
