Josuha Guilavogui tells Leeds United what they need to get promoted to the Premier League this season of Luton Town clash

Leeds United have slipped back into fourth place in the Championship table without even kicking a ball after Sunderland, Sheffield United and Burnley were all in action on Tuesday night.

The Whites had gone top of the table after Wilfried Gnonto’s winner secured a 4-3 victory over Swansea in Wales. It came after a Manor Solomon brace, and an own goal from Wales international Ben Cabango.

However, Leeds were only top of the Championship table for 48 hours. Sheffield United and Burnley were victorious on Tuesday, picking up solid wins and clean sheets against Oxford United and Coventry City.

Sunderland though, were unable to stem their consecutive run of draws. Sunderland had drawn their previous four Championship games in November, and on Tuesday night, they drew against West Brom.

Josuha Guilavogui says Leeds must improve their away form

Of course, Leeds did pick up a win over Swansea on Sunday but it was by the skin of their teeth. It also saw Guilavogui clock up his third appearance for Daniel Farke’s side, coming off the bench on Sunday.

He spoke to Leeds Live before the game, urging his side to improve their away form if the club are to go and win promotion back to the Premier League ahead of Wednesday night’s welcome over Luton Town.

“We have to improve our game away because at home we are really, really strong. We are really dominant and even the teams coming to Elland Road, they’re afraid of us, afraid of our fans,” Guilavogui claimed.

Leeds United form at Elland Road compared to away from home

Leeds have slipped to fourth place in the Championship, then. They go up against Luton on Wednesday, a side recently relegated from the Premier League and have struggled, but did beat Hull City on Saturday.

As expected, Leeds have been much more in control at home. Scoring more goals with 17 at Elland Road compared to the 11 away from home even after four on Sunday, five clean sheets at home, four away.

But it is also fair to say that Leeds’ away form has been solid. If you can’t win, don’t lose. Had Illan Meslier not dropped the ball against Sunderland, those numbers would look even better away from home.
