Neil Warnock felt the need to ask a cheeky request of Joe Rodon after Leeds United’s victory over Middlesbrough, but it looks like he won’t get what he wants.
After a week in which Leeds United’s promotion charge threatened to collapse, they have climbed back to the top of the Championship table after defeating Middlesbrough 1-0.
Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United suffered a second consecutive defeat as they lost to Millwall and Burnley dropped points at Derby County, allowing Leeds to climb back up to first.
Dan James was once again the difference, as he followed up his stunning equaliser against Luton Town with the decisive goal after two minutes in Teeside.
However, it wasn’t a perfect night for the Welsh winger as he left the field due to an injury, something that Neil Warnock desperately hopes isn’t serious.

Neil Warnock is desperate for Dan James not to be injured
Centre-back Joe Rodon gave an interview after the game, in which he praised Patrick Bamford’s performance and discussed how important it was for Leeds to get back to winning ways.
Just as he was about to return to the dressing room, former Leeds manager Warnock interjected from the Sky Sports studio with a final cheeky request of Rodon.
He said: “Just tell Dan James that he’s not allowed to be injured, alright?
“Until now, until the end of the season. Okay?”
The question sparked laughter from Stuart Dallas, who joined him in the studio, and Rodon, who replied: “I will, no problem.”
However, it doesn’t look like Rodon will be able to fulfill Warnock’s wishes.

Dan James injury latest
Warnock expressed his ‘love’ for James after his fantastic performance at the Riverside but it doesn’t appear to be promising news on the injury front.
Farke revealed James suffered a hamstring strain and admits he doesn’t look ‘too good’ for Leeds’ next fixture against Preston on Saturday.
