Jermaine Beckford says where he thinks Leeds United will finish in Premier League table

Leeds United fans will be more than willing to accept a 17th-placed finish in the Premier League this season. It is all about obtaining safety and breaking the trend of promoted sides being relegated.

Currently, Leeds sit in 15th in the Premier League after seven games. Daniel Farke’s men sit ahead of the point-a-game curve, which is expected to be enough to keep Leeds in the Premier League this season.

Eight points are in the bank, and it could have easily been more had Gabriel Gudmundsson not headed into his own net at Fulham, and Leeds avoided a last-minute Bournemouth equaliser at Elland Road.

Despite that, and despite losses to Arsenal and Tottenham, Leeds are ticking along nicely ahead of two huge games against Burnley and West Ham after the October break. Jermaine Beckford has had his say.

Jermaine Beckford thinks Leeds can finish above 17th place

Always an optimist, Leeds icon Beckford has been speaking about Leeds this week and was asked about his old side’s chances of avoiding relegation come the end of the 2025-26 campaign.

Speaking to Tribal Football this week, Beckford not only thinks Leeds will avoid relegation back to the Championship, but has seen enough to be convinced that Leeds can finish well above 17th place.

To be as competitive as Leeds have, gives everyone confidence they can finish 17th or higher, which is the only objective right now. I see three teams Leeds can finish above,” Beckford predicted, regarding Leeds.

“Also in the current table, there are teams above Leeds, who I think they can finish above as well. But it’s important that Leeds do keep their top players fit and on the pitch as injuries can hinder the team.”

Predicting Leeds United’s next four games in huge period

Between the October and November international breaks, Leeds go to Turf Moor on Saturday before returning under the lights next Friday to face Nuno Espirito Santo’s West Ham at Elland Road.

Two enormous games for Leeds, where there will be some pressure to win points. Then, it is a trip to Brighton and away at Nottingham Forest. Sean Dyche could be in the Forest dugout when Leeds play.

Leeds will be confident of a win at Burnley, with Scott Parker’s side winning only four points this season so far. Under Nuno, West Ham will improve, while Brighton away is tough. Forest hinges on who is in charge.
