Jermaine Beckford brutally slams ‘frustrating’ Leeds United star after Luton Town and he’s spot on

Leeds United have finally thrown away their spot in the top two, after weeks of poor form and missed chances.

Leeds United fans are once again left reeling what Daniel Farke and his misfiring group of Leeds players who on Saturday went to Kenilworth Road, eventually leaving with just a point.

Although a point is a point, it’s another couple of dropped points for the Whites who now have just one win in their last six Championship games, with three-straight draws after Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Luton Town.

It was Dan James’ well-taken strike from range that rescued a point on the day, after Leeds United had conceded first. Karl Darlow replaced Illan Meslier who was axed from the Leeds United XI, with Darlow arguably being Leeds’ best player on the day too.

But there were way more negative individual performances than there were positive ones, and one player seems to be coming under the spotlight more and more in recent weeks, despite what’s been a good overall season for him.

Jermaine Beckford fumes at Manor Solomon after Luton Town 1-1 Leeds United

Manor Solomon is an interesting talking point. At one moment he was everyone’s favourite player at Leeds United, though right now he’s one of the most frustrating. Leeds United fans have been critical of Solomon in recent weeks and for good reason: he’s not been anyway near the level he was at a couple of months ago.

Against Luton Town, Solomon had the chance to right all his wrongs of the last several weeks. But he missed a glorious chance from point blank range after James had picked him out with a low-driven cross during the second half.

Speaking on LUTV after the game, former Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford was left in disbelief at how the 25-year-old Solomon missed, saying: “It’s so, so frustrating as well because you expect him to score.

“The run on the top of the screen here, you can see Manor Solomon… watching it back now and I still don’t understand how he missed because, if the defender’s sliding in, you take your eye off the ball, ok fair enough you could miss that. But the way the ball comes across to him, it’s harder to miss than it is to score from that position.”

49ers could save Leeds United millions amid Manor Solomon poor form

It’s no secret that Leeds United want to sign Solomon permanently from Spurs in the summer. Or at least they did at one stage, with this poor spell of form potentially changing Leeds’ mind about the Israeli footballer.

Spurs want £15million for Solomon who has interest from elsewhere too, from the likes of Southampton and Everton. But the 49ers might be better off keeping their millions in their pockets and looking for another winger to add to the Leeds United ranks this summer.

Solomon has just proved too inconsistent, though Farke may be to blame for his painful reluctance to rotate his wingers, despite having some quality names in attack that he could chop and change.

Up next for Leeds United is a trip to Middlesbrough on Tuesday night.
