Leeds United made Jaidon Anthony their final signing of the summer transfer window last week.
Anthony made the switch on a season-long-loan from Bournemouth in a deal that was confirmed after the 11pm deadline.
The 23-year-old arrived as part of the deal that saw Luis Sinisterra go the other way after threatening legal action against the club regarding a clause if he was not granted an exit.
Leeds do not have an option-to-buy Anthony permanently at the end of the season, though Bournemouth do for Sinisterra if the Whites are not promoted.
Leeds were adamant Sinisterra would not be allowed to leave unless a replacement came in, of which Anthony was the chosen one given the late nature of the deal.
Anthony handed Leeds squad number
Anthony was not signed in time to face Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and so unlike Leeds’ other three arrivals last week, his squad number was unconfirmed.
However, it has been confirmed that Anthony will be handed the number 12 shirt during his time at Elland Road, with his name now able to purchased on the back of merchandise, via the official club shop.
Anthony will take over the number that was previously worn by Tyler Adams, who incidentally, also moved to his former side Bournemouth during the window.
It is perhaps a little surprising to see him take this number given 11 – a typical winger’s number – was available, as well as his former number 32 at Bournemouth.
However, at the end of the day, who is going to care if Anthony fires in the goals and assists that helps Leeds to promotion.
