Jack Harrison has opened up about his failed move from Leeds United to Leicester City on deadline day in January in an interview with The Telegraph – and admits that he felt “vulnerable” after Leeds pulled the plug on his move.
Harrison, 26, is in the form of his life at the moment. Since Javi Gracia came in, he has scored three goals and laid on two assists in the six League games under the Spanish boss. He scored on Tuesday against Nottingham Forest.
But it could have been very different. Indeed, The Telegraph report that he was two hours into a Leicester medical before Leeds called his agent and stopped the £22m move. Harrison’s head will have been all over the place.
His form dipped after January until the arrival of Gracia. Speaking now and looking back on the move, Harrison says how the decision to stop a move left him feeling the “most vulnerable” he has felt in his footballing career, to date.
“It was the most vulnerable I’ve felt. It was a big eye-opener to what goes on behind the scenes. When I got the call [telling him the deal was off] I had to accept it straight away. You have to accept the chaos and move forward.”

In hindsight and looking at the Premier League table, the right decision was made for Harrison. He could have have joined a Leicester side that have now sacked Brendan Rodgers – and are in a perilous position in the bottom three.
Of course, they still have every chance of going down – and so do Leeds. But there is bad feeling at Leicester with Rodgers leaving, while Gracia has got Leeds pointing the right way – four points above them. A new deal is close.
