Jack Harrison is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for Leeds United.

One of the most unexpected stories of 2025 is the return of Jack Harrison to Leeds United after two years away.

Many had expected Leeds to cash in on the winger, but either due to Daniel Farke liking him or a lack of suitors, Harrison has been reintegrated into the squad for the Premier League season.

The news hasn’t gone down well with supporters, but Harrison is working hard to get them back on side.

Here’s everything you need to know about him.

He was born in Stoke-on-Trent, England, on November 20, 1996.

Jack Harrison height

Harrison stands at 5’9″ tall.

Farke has worked to improve the height of his squad in 2025, but continues to utilise Harrison despite him going against the grain.

When did Leeds United sign Jack Harrison?

Leeds first signed Harrison in the summer of 2018, while they were still a Championship club, making him one of Marcelo Bielsa’s first signings.

Harrison came in on loan from Manchester City and would return on loan for the next two seasons.

In 2021, Leeds finally signed Harrison permanently for £11m.

Why do Leeds United fans hate Jack Harrison?

Harrison was one of the key players in Bielsa’s excellent side, but is not highly regarded at all by Leeds fans.

That’s because of his actions when Leeds were relegated from the Championship. Harrison was gifted a new five-year contract in 2023, but it included a clause that would allow him to leave the club on loan if Leeds fell out of the top flight.

Harrison utilised the clause just months after signing the deal and spent the following two seasons on loan at Everton, only returning to Elland Road once Farke had guided the club back to the top flight.

Other players, like Brenden Aaronson, left on loan upon relegation, but the American returned in 2024 to help get Leeds promoted.

The fact that Harrison didn’t has led to animosity towards him from supporters, something he tried to fix by putting £2,500 behind the bar at The Old Peacock before the opening game of the 2025-26 season.

Jack Harrison salary

Not only did Harrison’s bumper contract include the loan clause, but it also made him one of Leeds’ best-paid players.

It’s reported that Harrison earns £90,000 a week at Leeds, which works out at £4.68m a year. His contract doesn’t expire until 2028.

Only Dominic Calvert-Lewin is on a higher salary.

Jack Harrison stats

Harrison has had a peculiar career.

After being on the books of Liverpool and Manchester United as a youngster, Harrison moved to America in 2010 to continue his development, eventually emerging at New York City FC.

After impressing in MLS, sister club Manchester City signed him, but he never played a competitive game for Pep Guardiola. Instead, he would spend three years out on loan before joining Leeds and then spent two years on loan at Everton.

Here are his stats from those clubs.

Praise for Jack Harrison

Speaking in August 2025, Farke explained that Harrison has worked hard and has to continue to do so to get fans back on side.

He said: “I can confirm Jack definitely has already won the staff and all the players back because his behaviour was top class. He’s working very hard and is an unbelievably nice team-mate.

“Right now it’s up to him. With good performances and hard work he can win the trust of supporters back.

“Our supporters have a good feeling if someone really works for this club and I’m pretty sure he’ll grab his chance with both hands.

“Jack is a proven Premier League player, a good age, top character, and hard-working.

“Mixed reactions are normal once a player goes away on loan. It was similar with Brenden Aaronson.

“Everyone was in doubt when he came back and he’s proven he wants to work his socks off for this club and he has won all our supporters back.”
