Daniel Farke is pleased a solution has been reached regarding Helder Costa’s future at Leeds United.
Farke was speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s match with Bristol City, where Costa’s future was among the topics discussed.
Leeds confirmed just before Farke’s presser that a mutual agreement had been reached between the two parties for him to leave on a free transfer.
Costa has not played for Leeds in over two years having spent the last two seasons on loan at Al-Ittihad and Valencia respectively, winning the league at the former.
It has been clear since the beginning of summer that Costa would not be forcing his way into Farke’s plans, with the player keen to leave, and Leeds happy to sanction an exit.

Farke says he and everyone at the club wishes Costa all the best moving forward following his contributions at the club, and is happy an amicable exit has been found.
“We were all waiting for a solution. We had open and professional talks about it. Helder is a great guy but from both sides, it was clear we wanted to have something new. We wish him all the best.”
This felt like the only logical solution when transfer windows in both Saudi Arabia and Turkey shut and he was unable to find himself a new club.
Costa was set to be out of contract at the end of the season and so there was little point in him reaming at Leeds all that time, doing nothing.
Hopefully now he is a free agent Costa can find himself a club and get his career back on track after such a difficult last few months.
