Leeds United winger Jack Harrison is undergoing a medical at Premier League outfit Everton ahead of a season-long loan move this summer.
According to David Ornstein, Harrison has agreed terms with the Toffees due to a clause in his contract. It allows the player to depart on loan following Leeds’ relegation to the Championship.
Everton would like to turn the deal permanent upon completion of the loan, which would put an end to the Englishman’s five-year allegiance with the Whites.
The 26-year-old spent three seasons on loan at Elland Road before signing permanently from Manchester City in the summer of 2021, joining for £11million on an initial three-year deal.
Harrison, labelled ‘incredible’ by former boss Jesse Marsch, has featured 206 times for Leeds, scoring 34 and assisting 32 in that time. But it now looks likely that we have seen the last of him in Yorkshire.
The Toffees, who avoided relegation on the final day of last season, look set to secure their man. Reports have rapidly suggested it could take place as soon as this afternoon.
It is bound to be a big loss for Daniel Farke’s side who would have hoped to keep him on board as they target an instant return to the Premier League.
Harrison needs replacing
Besides Harrison, Leeds have Luis Sinisterra and Wilfried Gnonto who are natural left wingers. The former is currently injured whilst the latter has been frequently linked away from the club this summer. It goes without saying that a replacement would have to be found.
It has not been an easy start back to life in the Championship having drawn and lost the opening two fixtures, so losing Harrison just adds to the early concern this season.
Up next for Farke’s men is West Bromwich Albion at home on Friday evening, a positive performance and result would do wonders to the morale currently around the club.
