Leeds United have placed a £30 million asking price on Wilfried Gnonto’s head amid interest from Everton.

That is according to 90min.com, who report Everton are now looking to push ahead with a deal for Gnonto but will have to meet Leeds’ valuation if they are to tempt them into selling.

It is said Everton have an ‘issue’ with the price tag Leeds have set for Gnonto and are keen to do a deal that allows them to pay a significant amount in instalments, rather than up front.

Gnonto has once reiterated his desire to speak to Everton over a potential move this summer, though Fabrizio Romano has already reported an agreement is in place over a five-year-deal.

As per the Mail, the 19-year-old asked to be left out of Leeds’ squad for the Carabao Cup tie with Shrewsbury Town on Wednesday, and has also ruled himself out of the trip to Birmingham City.

Gnonto is one of few players who does not have an active release clause in his contract following relegation, with a number of last season’s first team squad having moved on.

As such, the 19-year-old still has four years left to run on his deal at Elland Road having only joined from FC Zurich 12 months ago.

He is a player who has been earmarked as someone San Francisco 49ers Enterprises would like to keep this season and so are determined to convince him to stick around.

However, if his desire really is to move on, £30 million is a good price tag to have set by Leeds and they should not relent regardless of Gnonto’s demands.

£30 million would allow Leeds to significantly reinvest into the squad, but if he was to stay, then he would certainly be a useful asset.
