Leeds United saw eight members of last season’s first team squad depart on loan in the summer.
Following Leeds’ relegation to the Championship in May, several players who contributed to doing so were quick to move on elsewhere.
Robin Koch, Brenden Aaronson, Diego Llorente, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca, Luis Sinisterra, Jack Harrison and Max Wober all triggered loan clauses in their contract that became active after relegation.
For many of them, there is no future for them at Elland Road anymore, but some will still be hoping to forge a career at Leeds, if they are promoted.
As per transfer insider Dean Jones, Aaronson is one of those he expects to comeback if Leeds return to the Premier League, with the American still reportedly keen to be a success in England.
Leeds would be making a mistake bringing Aaronson back
Most of the players who left on loan in the summer have now burnt their bridges at Leeds, particularly the ones who had been here for just a year, or even less.
Unfortunately, Aaronson fits that bill, but in truth, it is more his ability that means Leeds should not even be considering bringing him back.
Aaronson scored one goal and provided three assists in his season at Leeds, statistics, which for a number 10, make for grim reading.
He just did not have the technical or physical ability to cope in the Premier League, but it isn’t going much better for him in Germany, either.
Since picking up a red card on the second game of the season, Aaronson has started just once, of which he was hooked at half-time.
Aaronson is yet to register a single goal or assist either and with Union Berlin struggling both in Europe and domestically, it is clear that he just is not good enough.
