Leeds United and Southampton are reportedly in the market for Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara in the coming weeks with the Finland star expected to leave Ibrox – and Leeds cannot repeat the mistake made in Ryan Manning.
Southampton announced the signing of 27-year-old Manning after his contract at Swansea came to an end, at the end of the season. It sees the Ireland star reunite with Russell Martin, who has taken on the job at Southampton.
Manning was obviously linked with Leeds. The left-back issue is likely to arise once again at Elland Road in the next few weeks. So, Leeds made a mistake in failing to sign left-back Manning. Southampton the victors. Now, Kamara.

Give Me Sport reporter Dean Jones says Kamara is a target for both Southampton and Leeds. The Herald say he is rated at a fee of £5m. The left-back issue is desperate, but not as crucial as the middle of the park this summer.
Tyler Adams, Adam Forshaw and Marc Roca are looking likely to join Weston McKennie in leaving the club in the next few weeks. Roca is close to Betis, while Forshaw is yet to agree to a deal. Adams has interest from plenty of clubs.
Leeds, Southampton in for Kamara: Leeds can’t repeat Manning mistake
That would leave Leeds with just Archie Gray and Darko Gyabi as recognised, central midfielders. Sam Greenwood is more of a 10 but can do a job. Pascal Struijk and Max Wober have played there. But Leeds need more options.

Kamara is cheap, experienced, at a good age and a player that could easily play regularly in the Premier League. He would be superb. Leeds desperately need Kamara, like we did with Manning. We cannot make the same mistake.
If Leeds have any transfer nous, they will move quickly to get ahead of Southampton and prevent being beaten by the Saints to a transfer target for a second time in the space of a couple of weeks. Kamara would be brilliant.
