Jesse Marsch says one Leeds United player currently out on loan needs to leave the club permanently in the summer and expects plenty of teams to be interested.
Leeds will have to sort out the future of a number of players currently out on loan this summer after they left Elland Road using Victor Orta’s relegation clause, meaning Leeds were powerless to prevent an exit.
It meant Daniel Farke was unable to cash in on any unwanted players in order to raise his own transfer funds. Diego Llorente and Rasmus Kristensen went to Roma on loan, initially under Jose Mourinho.
Max Wober, Robin Koch and Brenden Aaronson moved to Germany while Marc Roca returned to Spain with Real Betis. Jack Harrison and Luis Sinisterra secured instant returns to the top tier of English football.
Aaronson, 23, was Marsch’s first signing at Leeds as he reunited with the player he signed for Salzburg. But after 40 games for Leeds, the USA star managed just one goal and came under constant criticism.
Now, Marsch told CBS Sports Golazo that he’d like to see Aaronson leave and join a club that suits him:

Aaronson has since moved to Union Berlin on loan, but the USA star initially struggled with the German side who had reached the Champions League last season but currently sit in 15th of 18 Bundesliga sides.
But he has turned his form around during the second half of the season and was the “best player on the pitch” during the weekend’s 4-3 loss to Bochum, in which Aaronson got an assist for his loan side.
Ahead of Copa America, Marsch discussed Aaronson’s future and expects the Leeds playmaker to leave Elland Road. He believes Aaronson needs to find a club that would benefit the midfielder’s abilities.
“Regardless [of promotion] with Brenden there will be plenty of suitors around Europe. One thing that we know he needs is to get back to playing. In the second half of the season he has established himself more.
“Played a bit more and had some better performances in general. He’s such a great kid, a really quality player, he’ll always do everything he can for the team,” Marsch said when asked about Aaronson’s future.
“I just want to see him excel, I want to see him go somewhere where it feeds into the type of football that he can play, where he can be rewarded. I think he’ll find that, I’m not sure where but he will find that.”

Bought for £25m, Aaronson was described as “tremendous” by Graeme Souness shortly after his arrival. But he hasn’t lived up to the hype, the player Leeds fans saw shine in the Champions League for Salzburg.
His value was fallen off the face of the cliff given his poor form at Leeds and the first half of his spell at Union. Aaronson’s improvement has been solid but it is still some way off the quality of a £25m player.
Reports state that Leeds are willing to offload Aaronson for a bargain fee of £10m, a huge £15m loss on the American. For such a fee, despite his poor form, you can imagine there will be plenty of suitors.
