Willy Gnonto was in stunning form on Tuesday as Leeds United completely brushed Swansea City aside – and the Italian earned praise from teammates including Stuart Dallas, and even Luke Ayling.
Gnonto, 20, took his tally for the season from three to five at Swansea – after scoring two of those first three since the turn of the year. The Italy star has got his chance and he is grabbing it with both hands.
It comes after refusing to play at the start of the season and in turn losing his place in the side to the in-form Dan James. But he is back now, producing some of the best form he has shown since joining us.
Daniel Farke says that Gnonto – after the situation of the summer – has grown up a lot. Certainly, he is starting to show fans why he is regarded as one of the best young talents in the Italian pool of players.
After netting a brace on Tuesday, Gnonto posted on Instagram. He could have easily scored a hat-trick, missing a number of big chances but he still managed to score twice – helping us win a seventh in a row.

It leaves Farke with a massive headache. Does he start Gnonto on Saturday, and it would certainly be harsh to drop a player that had just scored two goals – or, does he bring back the excellent Dan James?
The Welsh speed machine has been on fire, and won the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award for last month. 17 goal involvements this season. A big decision to make for the German gaffer, come Saturday.
Responding to his post on Instagram, Dallas posted an intriguing “I see you” comment – while Ayling, Ian Poveda and Crysencio Summerville also commented on his post after his sparkling performance.
