Crysencio Summerville has revealed he is not thinking about his future until after the U21s EUROs but wants to return to the Premier League with Leeds United.
Summerville was speaking in an interview with NOS after Netherlands U21s’ 0-0 draw with Belgium on Wednesday, in what was their opening match of the tournament in Georgia.
The 21-year-old spoke of his love for Leeds but admitted he has seen some of the speculation surrounding his name in the wake of the club’s relegation.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Summerville is expected to leave Leeds this summer with Everton and Feyenoord both keen on a deal that could cost £12 million.
It has also been reported in his native homeland of the Netherlands that Summerville has asked to leave Leeds, with the aim of being in the senior squad for next summer’s EUROs in 2024.

That said, Summerville’s comments do not suggest that of a man looking for a swift exit in the coming weeks.
Instead, he spoke of his desire at getting Leeds back into the Premier League as quickly as possible, while also detailing his love for the club.
He said: “I see and read some things here and there, but I focus on this tournament. I also deliberately asked my agent not to give me that information until after the European championship. We can take a prize, we’ll see the rest later.
“I used to play FIFA with the guys I played against in England. I enjoyed every game. And I really love Leeds, where I came in as an 18-year-old.
“That moment will stay with me forever. A few hours after that goal I turned 21: that was the best birthday I could wish for. I hope we return to the Premier League as soon as possible.”
Based on reports in the media it is difficult to know what to make of these comments but if they are to be taken at face value, then it’s great news.
Summerville has also the talent and capability of ripping the Championship apart with his pace and trickery, and keeping him would be a real boost to Leeds’ promotion hopes.
Hopefully he is not just saying what he thinks Leeds fans would like to hear and he does indeed want to stay.
