Joel Piroe has claimed has ‘nothing but positive’ things to say about his new Leeds United teammates.

Piroe moved to Leeds from Swansea City in the summer in an initial £10.5 million deal, and has looked right at home since making the switch both on and off the pitch.

He has started all 13 Championship matches under Daniel Farke and speaking on the Official Leeds United Podcast, Piroe says the rest of the squad has made it easy to settle in.

The 24-year-old has struck up a nice partnership in attack alongside Georginio Rutter, someone he says he also gets on well with off the pitch, as well as Wilfried Gnonto.

Crysencio Summerville and Pascal Struijk will have also ensured the transition was seamless for Piroe, given that they are all Dutch.

Piroe quotes show tight-knit nature of Leeds squad

Speaking on how he has settled in at the club, Piroe says he is really happy with how he has been welcomed in by the rest of the squad.

He said: “Of course I knew a couple of the players, especially the Dutch guys, Cree, Pascal. I knew them from the Dutch youth already.

“Then I knew some of the names you have seen playing before but it is really getting to know the other guys as well. I have to say I really love the guys. They are really open, really helpful. So nothing but positives.”

Leeds seemed to lose a bit of that off the field chemistry they had in abundance under Marcelo Bielsa and it does feel as though it is coming back this season.

It has made it easier for the new players such as Piroe to settle in, and that has certainly been reflected on the pitch with how many of the signings have made an impact.

Games such as the win at Leicester City show just how much the players are now all fighting for each other, which was not the case last season.
