The pressure is mounting on Daniel Farke to get the job done and push Leeds United into the Premier League at the second attempt – but will that be enough to save his place in the dugout?
The German gaffer has come in for criticism in the last few weeks. One win in five has seen Leeds lose a five-point lead over Sheffield United, now sitting two points behind with Burnley now level on points.
Leeds have been poor. Like last season, the pressure of such a big and expectant fanbase is getting the better of Farke’s men and they need to find a way to stem the tide before it is too late, and drop further.
There is no doubt, even if not been confirmed, that The 49ers will relieve boss Farke of his job at Elland Road if Leeds don’t go up. With concerns over his tactics, does he retain his job even with promotion?

Graeme Bailey discusses Daniel Farke’s future if Leeds do go up
Tim Sherwood still thinks Leeds will finish in the top two and Gary Lineker thinks Leeds hold an advantage over Sheffield United and Burnley, because the two play each other. But, Leeds need to start winning.
However, given the quality of this Leeds side and the superiority on paper they have over every other side in the Championship – it should be a walk in the park. So, does Farke keep his job even if Leeds go up?
Bailey told LeedsUnited.News: “I wouldn’t rule out the conversation [of an exit]. The 49ers use RedBull. RedBull know what they’re doing. If Leeds go top two, I don’t see them changing. Never say never.
“With RedBull’s contacts and the club Leeds’ size, I think people underestimate the pull Leeds have. I don’t see them doing it with the pull Leeds have. But last-day scraping it, it wouldn’t surprise me.
“He’s not as secure as Chris Wilder, he’s secure however they go up. He’d be on a short leash, he’d be sacked by November, December if they made a bad start,” Bailey continued, talking to LeedsUnited.News.

When does Daniel Farke’s Leeds United contract come to an end?
Joining the club in the summer of 2023, Farke had just left Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach – guiding the German outfit to mid-table. Of course, he has two Championship titles on his managerial CV.
He signed a four-year deal in the summer of 2023 and it means Farke is only halfway through his deal. If Leeds were to look for a new manager, he would be due a hefty amount in compensation this summer.
The chances are that Leeds will go up and even if it is via the play-offs, Farke keeps his job. But as Bailey says, his security is not like Wilder’s and a spell of bad form in the Premier League will see him sacked.
