It’s been a sobering month for Leeds United, who have been hit with the harsh realities of the Premier League.
It had been a promising start to life in the Premier League for Leeds United but they have crashed back down to Earth with a series of costly defeats over the last month.
Though Daniel Farke did manage to pick up a vital win over West Ham, losses to relegation rivals Burnley and Nottingham Forest have piled the pressure on the manager.
There have been strong calls for Farke to lose his job this week and, though completely understandable given the difference in quality between the two divisions, the drop off in form from this point last season in the Championship does not make for pretty reading.

Leeds obviously played a lot more games in the Championship and had four more matches under their belt by November 12 12 months ago but it’s also when they started to hit their stride.
Farke’s side climbed up to third place and added 13 points to their tally in the period between international breaks, losing just once away at Millwall.
This year, Leeds have regressed. They picked up just three points and, though they have only dropped one place, they are now only one point above the relegation zone compared to the breathing room of four they had before the October break.
The room for error is getting thinner and the fixtures are only getting tougher once domestic football returns, with December looking especially scary.
Perhaps even more worryingly for Leeds is that at this point when they were last in the Premier League in 2022-23, they sat 12th in the table but still went on to suffer relegation.
That does suggest Leeds could just as easily climb up from their low position as nothing is set at this stage, but it equally illustrates just how perilous their position is.
Can Daniel Farke rescue Leeds United’s form?
The biggest question remains: can Farke turn Leeds’ form around?
His tactics did seem to be working as – Arsenal aside – Leeds were competitive in every Premier League fixture until this past month and appeared cut out for the physical battle of the Premier League.
However, there were clear signs even then that Leeds did not have enough going forward. Farke brought in Lukas Nmecha against Forest with instant results, but it still didn’t make a difference in the end.
Leeds clearly need Willy Gnonto and Dan James back as soon as possible to offer more verve and variety on the flanks, and are desperate for an inventive playmaker to be recruited in January.
If Farke gets those, Leeds still might have a chance but it’s not looking likely.
