It has been a decent start to the 2024-25 season for Leeds United largely thanks to last Friday’s superb win over Sheffield United, a side expected to be fighting The Whites for a place in the top two.

Leeds have kept six clean sheets in their 10 Championship games so far, winning five times and losing on just one occasion to recently-relegated Burnley. Burnley sit ahead of Leeds at the top, Sunderland second.

Leeds are in third going into Tuesday’s clash against Tom Cleverley’s Watford at Elland Road. A Leeds side that have only faced 72 shots so far, the lowest of any Championship side since 2013-14 after 10 games.

So, after 10 matches, Leeds have 19 points from 10 games. They have conceded just seven goals in those 10 and have kept six clean sheets while scoring 17 goals and only failed to score on two occasions so far.

How do Leeds compare to last season in the Championship table?

Last season, Leeds had more to contend with. Players desperate to leave, a takeover, Daniel Farke’s first few months as manager. It saw Leeds win just one of their first five Championship games under Farke.

They had improved by the 10-game mark, winning four of the next five. But after 10, Leeds only had 16 points from 10 games and were sat in tenth. Leeds had conceded three more, and scored two less goals.

Farke’s side had recovered after the first five games, sitting in sixth compared to this season’s third spot. At this point last season, Leeds had played five of the top 10. This season, Leeds have also faced five.

Leeds’ goalscorers after 10 games during 2023-24 season

Leeds have outscored last season by two goals, and have conceded three less. A goal difference then of +10, instead of last season’s effort after 10 games of +5. Plenty of players are chipping in with goals.

Of last season’s 10 different scorers after 10 games, six have since left the club. What is also noticeable is that this season, all of Leeds’ attackers have scored and are doing so regularly with four currently on two.

Leeds’ defenders are also chipping in as they did last season, with Pascal Struijk on two while Jayden Bogle and Junior Firpo have one. Hopefully for Leeds, there will be bigger numbers on Tuesday evening.
