Back in February 2023, Leeds United were linked with a new manager every day as The Whites scoured the market to find a replacement after sacking Jesse Marsch.
Now-Liverpool manager Arne Slot was linked with Leeds, as was current Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola while Tata Martino was approached by Leeds. Martino left his post at Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami this week.
After a three-game interim spell under Michael Skubala in which Leeds drew with Manchester United but lost to Everton and Man United in a second clash against the Old Trafford side, Javi Gracia was appointed.
Gracia was unable to stem the flow despite a promising start. A 5-1 loss to Crystal Palace and a 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth saw Gracia and Victor Orta depart, with Sam Allardyce coming in for the last four games.

Alfred Schreuder was set to take over at Leeds United as manager
Dutch boss Alfred Schreuder was one name that looked set to stand in the Leeds dugout. After drawing with Manchester United at Old Trafford, Schreuder was spotted in the stands as Leeds lost at Elland Road.
Reports said Schreuder was set to take over at Leeds. But, the former Ajax manager – a league winner with Club Brugge – did not take over at Elland Road, despite Leeds offering Schreuder a three-year contract.
How Schreuder has fared since coming close to Leeds job…
Schreuder had only just left Ajax in January 2023, and was without work. It looked as if he would get the job at Leeds just a month after his Ajax departure, but instead he had to wait until May for his next role.

He boasts a side that includes former Swansea and Holland midfielder Leroy Fer, and Championship icon Adel Taarabt. A total of 32 wins in 49 games, Schreuder is faring well – but only in the Middle East.
