Michael Bridges is extremely impressed with how quickly Ethan Ampadu has adapted at Leeds United.

The former Leeds striker was speaking on the latest episode of the Official Leeds United Podcast, where he hailed the midfielder as a ‘class act’ from what he has seen in pre-season.

Ampadu is just one of two new signings at Elland Road so far this summer, joining in a £7 million deal from Chelsea last month.

Karl Darlow then followed him from Newcastle United just six days ago, but it is Ampadu who has caught the eye after his involvement for Leeds during pre-season.

It has quickly become clear just how much of a key role Ampadu will play under Daniel Farke, starting all three of Leeds’ friendlies that he was available for and quickly looking the part.

Bridges says Ampadu has impressed him since Leeds move

Speaking ahead of the start of the new season this weekend, Bridges thinks Ampadu has slotted into Leeds‘ side perfectly and is shocked at how quickly he has adapted to his new club.

“I think you have to look at the signings we’ve made, Darlow has come in from Newcastle and I think Ampadu, for me he’s a class act, he’s looked great in the pre-season games, he looks like he’s adapted straight away.”

There won’t be many better signings across the entire division than Ampadu based on what he has shown in pre-season.

He’s only been at the club a matter of weeks but is already displaying himself as a leader on the pitch, directing others around him and taking control of posession.

His calmness and quality on the ball mean he is set to be crucial to the way Leeds will play under Farke, and hopefully he can transfer his pre-season form into the real stuff.
