‘A lot’… 22-year-old Leeds player says Daniel Farke has been working on his attacking play

Crysencio Summerville has been on fire for Leeds United this term and he says that conversations with Daniel Farke behind the scenes has helped the Dutchman get more out of his end product.

Summerville, 22, has had a hand in 14 goals this season, in just 16 Championship games. Scoring eight, at a rate of one every two games, the Dutch flyer has also laid on an impressive six. Four in his last six.

This is Summerville’s first proper season in which he has become a key player in a Leeds shirt. Under Jesse Marsch last season, Summerville was a bit of a rotational option – but showed plenty of promise.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post on the eve of a clash against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, the in-form Summerville spoke of chats he has had with Farke off the pitch, on sharpening his end product.

“He speaks with me a lot about my end product, how I can be consistent. The way he makes things clear for me, it’s also clear for me on the pitch. I know what to do. You see it on the pitch, I’m enjoying myself.”

Farke is renowned for his man management, his ability to coax the best out of young players with plenty of potential. Just this season, look at Georginio Rutter, Archie Gray and even Ethan Ampadu, at just 23.

Summerville has turned promise and potential into massive proven quality. His numbers are incredible and if Leeds are to go and get promotion come the end of the season – Summerville will be a key player.

Leeds go into Saturday lunchtime’s clash with two wins on the bounce, while Blackburn will be looking to recover from a disappointing 3-1 loss to struggling Sheffield Wednesday. Still, a very tough clash.
